 Promise #93: I am a gracious God who is righteous and full of mercy. Psalm 116:5 (WEB) Yahweh is Gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful. Our God and Father is as righteous as He is gracious and merciful. He is just and holy, as well as loving and compassionate. For some, this may seem contradictory. How can the same God who is righteous and holy also be gracious and full of mercy? The simple truth is that Jesus Christ secured our redemption when He died on the cross two thousand years ago. As a result of this once-and-for-all act of love, we are all now recipients of His extravagant mercy. Just think about this for a moment... You now have unlimited access to the throne room of our righteous and merciful Heavenly Father because you are in His Son! With this in mind, let us joyfully reflect on the invitation found in Hebrews 4:16: Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. (ESV) *** Responsive Prayer: Father, thank you for the infinite mercy you have shown me through the life of your beloved Son. I know that I have been saved by grace; it is a gift from God freely given to me through faith.
