Promise #105: If you delight in My Word, you will be fruitful and prosperous. Psalm 1:1-3 (WEB) 1 Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper. Today's promise includes the first three verses of the first chapter of the Book of Psalms. What a way to begin this wonderful book! These precious verses tell us that we will lead a blessed life when we decide not to take counsel from the world system but delight in the Word of the living God. We are told that if we take delight in the Lord and in His Word, we will be like a tree planted by rivers of water, always bearing fruit in its proper season and living a prosperous life. I don't know about you, but when I read Psalm 1:1-3, my heart cries out that I want to be that person! I want to live a life pleasing to my God and to delight in, meditate on, and manifest His Word to everyone around me. Simply put, God loves us and desires to bless us in every way. When we listen to Him and take joy in what brings Him joy, we receive His promise of being fruitful. My prayer today is that we all respond with a " yes " and " amen " to this promise, claiming it as our own. May each of us cherish what our Father loves and choose to live a life that delights in His ways. *** Responsive Prayer: Father, thank you for the fruitfulness that is part of my birthright when I simply delight in all the promises of your Word, which will guide me into paths of righteousness for your name's sake. Everything within me says ‘yes’ and ‘amen’ to every promise you have made to me through your Holy Scriptures. Help me to take joy in all the wonderful things that you cherish as I go about my day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen. Read our other daily posts...
