1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB

4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,
5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked,
takes no account of evil; 6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
 

Promise #24: My love will persevere through every situation.

The Greek word for love used in this passage of Scripture is the word agape which speaks of the unconditional love of God. While today's promise cannot adequately describe the love of God found in 1 Corinthians 13, it does speak of the tenacious heart of our Father that will simply not give up on us no matter what we go through.

God's love is relentless and consistent. His love for us does not change like shifting shadows, but will persevere through every situation that we go through. His love will always protect us, it will always trust, it will always believe the best about every situation and it will always stay true. This is the love that God has for us.

It is not like any love that we have experienced on earth. Even the love from the best father, mother, brother, sister, friend, spouse, etc. would only be a shadow of the unconditional, everlasting love that God has for us. My prayer today is that we would have power to grasp the vastness of the immeasureable love that God has for us as Paul the Apostle prayed in Ephesians 3:14-19...

14 For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
